Thoughts about 18 Wounds BEFORE FILMS AFTER FILMS It is very sad that the church is failing to meet the needs of this population It is so sad that many Christians advocate abortions for babies who will have disabilities Our culture has come so far, but this population is still being marginalized in many ways Made me realize how very broken our world and culture really are These films helped me to see that just because someone might be affected by these wounds, it does not mean that they cannot live productive lives I need to be very careful how I think about people with disabilities The 18 wounds have obvious emotional affects and more subtle emotional affects
Source of Truth My Source of Truth: The Bible The Bible says: Luke 14: 12-13 “He said also to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind.” Christians need to reach out and include all individuals, including those with disabilities in everything that we do.
