History of McDonald’s  The business began in 1940, with a restaurant opened by brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald at 1398 North E Street at West 14th Street in San Bernardino, California. Their introduction of the "Speedee Service System" in 1948 furthered the principles of the modern fast-food restaurant that the White Castle hamburger chain had already put into practice more than two decades earlier.  The McDonald's headquarters complex, McDonald's Plaza, is located in Oak Brook, Illinois. McDonald's restaurants are found in 119 countries and territories around the world and serve 68 million customers each day. The official website is

Reviews of McDonald’s  Employee reviews  I would recommend this company to a friend  AWESOME  Customer reviews  “Consistent and patient”  Reviewed April 14, 2013 I have seen just about everything in this McDonalds - Overall the staff is consistent and patient, which is probably harder than it looks.  If you want to eat almost free, this is your place. We were three people and the food costed only $4 so it was really cheap.

McDonald’s Today  A McDonald's restaurant is operated by either a franchisee, an affiliate, or the corporation itself. The corporation's revenues come from the rent, royalties and fees paid by the franchisees, as well as sales in company-operated restaurants. McDonald's revenues grew 27 percent over the three years ending in 2007 to $22.8 billion, and 9 percent growth in operating income to $3.9 billion.

White Castle History  White Castle was founded in 1921 in Wichita, Kansas The original location was the NW corner of First and Main Cook Walt A. Anderson partnered with insurance man Edgar Waldo "Billy" A Ingram to make White Castle into a chain of restaurants and market White Castle to invoke a feeling of cleanliness, their restaurants were small buildings with white porcelain enamel on steel exteriors, stainless steel interiors, and employees outfitted with spotless uniforms Ingram's steadfast refusal to franchise or take on debt resulted in the chain remaining relatively small, with a very discontinuous geography compared to most chains. There are over 420 White Castle outlets, all in the United States and specifically in the Midwest and Tennessee, except for a significant discontinuous smattering of outlets in the New York metropolitan region, compared with about 32,000.  McDonald's The chain does, however, sell frozen sliders inside supermarkets nationwide, with availability varying by chain. Some locations are also cobranded with Church's Chicken. In 1933, Ingram bought out Anderson, and the following year the company moved its corporate headquarters to Columbus, Ohio.

White Castle Today  The White Castle corporation is considered America's first fast-food hamburger chain. It owns and operates more than 400 restaurants in 11 states. Through the years, the burgers have affectionately have been nicknamed by their fans as gut bombs, Whiteys,“ sliders, roach burgers, Castles, Whitey one-bites and belly busters.

Questions 1) Which is your favorite between White Castle and McDonald’s? 2) Why did you pick that one? What is your favorite food there? 3) Have you noticed a difference in prices at the two places? 4) Do you have a McDonald’s or White Castle in your neighborhood?

Conclusion  I prefer McDonald’s over White Castle. I think they have more food choices than White Castle, and they have more locations near my home. I don’t know if I want to work in either place, because you could get burns if you are not very careful.
