Kristin Armstron: gold to gold

Kristin Armstrong was born in 1973 in a military family, her father in fact was an officer in the Marines. Prior to her professional cycling career, when she was 17 years old, she had became a Junior Olympian in the swimming. She was also a triathlete and she competed in the Hawaii Ironman World Championships.

Her career in the triathlon ended when it was diagnosed a osteoarthritis, that causes a degeneration and deformation of all joints. However her sport career continued, she couldn’t run anymore, but she could cycle. The cycling was considered for her the best therapy for her disease. So she won two gold Olympic medal in the cycling road, in Beijing 2008 and recently in London The Summer Olympic games of London she announced in were the final races for her. After the London 2012 winning she said "The bikes mean so much to me "My T(ime)T(rial) bike is a symbol of all the hard work that has been put into this journey.” She hold bachelor's degree from Universit y of Idaho in sports physiology in 1995, and currently lives in Boise, Idaho. Now she tries to provide support to the millions of Americans who suffer from arthritis.
