Project Summary SPIRIT will be delivered by a partnership of 8 organisations in 8 member states The project is focused on achieving energy savings, reducing CO2 emissions and lasting behaviour change To facilitate this change the partnership will engage communities in partner countries through faith based networks

Major Outputs & Expected Results Establishing and testing a standard methodology for the delivery of energy saving behaviour change campaigns via faith based networks that will be applicable on a pan-European basis The eight project partners will undertake an average of 100 demonstration domestic energy assessments and advice sessions in the homes of members of faith based networks – 800 in total Each partner will train an average of 40 members of the faith based networks with which they are engaged to work as volunteers to deliver domestic energy assessments and advice – 320 in total Once the volunteers have been trained, the partners will provide ongoing management, administration and support functions that will assist the volunteers in undertaking a total of 7,450 visits (an average of 22.3 visits per volunteer) to the homes of other members of their faith networks to provide domestic energy advice

Methodology As a partnership we will develop new and adapt existing methods of changing behaviour in relation to household energy use These methods will be set out in a series of manual and training materials which will be used by volunteers in each of the partner regions These volunteers will be trained and then complete energy advice sessions through engagement with members of their faith based communities An ongoing evaluation of this approach and the resulting delivery will be ongoing through the project
