Pt. 1: Continuity

Movement – Preserving motion continuity – Similar to vectors and sporting events Color – White balance – Tape in the same conditions, if possible. Audio – Tape entire voice-over at once. – Maintain background noise

Pt. 1: Continuity Vectors – Maintaining screen positions. – Don’t change angles. – TV shoots sporting events from same side of the field. 180 Degree Rule – Characters or elements in the same scene should always have the same left/right relationship to each other.

Pt. 1: 180-Degree Rule

Pt. 1: 30-Degree Rule

Pt. 1: Similar Framing Rule Generally, avoid switching between similarly framed shots of the same subject. – Don’t switch from a CU of Mr. Bloem to another camera shooting an CU of Mr. Bloem.
