What am I learning today? About the problem of forced labour in Brazil

Human Rights As we have dicussced certain groups have their human rights abused in Brazil. They are: Women Street Children Prisoners

Forced Labour It is estimated that 25,000 to 40,000 workers are still victims of conditions of slavery in Brazil. The problem is particularly serious in the northern agricultural states, where widespread poverty and the vast distances make it very difficult to when this is going on.

What is it? oPeople apply for jobs and are taken on a bus far away from their homes. It can take three days or more to reach the location. oWorkers usually work in fields- often without protective clothing. oAfter working for a long period of time, workers are still not paid. oHelpless as they are far from home and are penniless.
