Safety in the Science Lab By Ms. Noble SHS Biology/Environmental Science

I will act responsibly at all times in the laboratory

I will follow all instruction about laboratory procedures given by the teacher

I will keep my area clean in the laboratory.

I will wear safety goggles at all times in the lab and protective clothing when needed.

I know where the fire extinguisher (and fire blanket) are and I have been trained in their use.

I will notify the teacher of ANY emergency.

I know who to contact for help in the case of an emergency. Dial 0 for Ms. Camacho

I will tie back long hair, remove jewelry, and wear shoes with closed toes while in the laboratory.

I will NEVER work alone in the laboratory. Who will call for help when you do something stupid?

I will not take chemicals or equipment (or animal parts) out of the lab without permission…guess what? You will NEVER have permission!!!

I will never eat or dink in the lab unless instructed to do so by the instructor.

I will only handle living or preserved specimens when authorized by the teacher.

I will not enter or work in a storage area unless supervised by a teacher.

BUT…hopefully we WILL HAVE some FUN!
