Policy Options Improve the information—focus on results and make sure performance measures link to concrete goals. Use cost benefit analysis and other economic tools to look at the economic impact of potential transportation projects. Bring performance measurement information more clearly into the appropriations process, so when states are budgeting dollars, they are looking at the information on what those dollars will deliver for the state.
