Religion’s Role in World Conflicts Most of the people work on farms. Work in small industries, making shawls and rugs from cashmere wool. Corn and rice are the major crops, and there are many orchards and vineyards. Roses and jasmine provide oil used in perfumes. Kashmir is also famed for its wool and silk. Cashmere, pronounced KASH mihr, is a fiber made from the soft undercoat of Cashmere goats.
