India By E’xavier and Emily

Location India is found on Asia. The capital city is New Delhi. Pakistan, China and Nepal shares the border with India. The latitude/longitude of the capital city is 80 degrees north. I think the advantages of living in India is you can go swimming any time but its hot and you can get sun burn.

Topography  The highest point in the Indian Himalayas is a peek named Kanchenjunga.  The two most important rivers are the Ganges and the Indus.  One lake is Chilka lake.  India touches the Indian ocean.

Government The prime minister is APJ Abdolkalam. India holds a national election ever 5 years India votes for a politic party. The parliament makes laws Bahujan Samaj is one party.

Economy The major exports are pearls,cotton,sandal- wood,perfumed oils and semi-precious stones. The major imports are Glassware,wine,medicines,tin/coper,silverware and clothing. India’s land is rich with natural resources. Companies drill for oil in northwestern India. Indians also mine coal and iron ore. The money in India is called Rupees. One US dollar is equaled to 45 Indian Rupees.

People and Culture  In India there are 16 national languages and more than 1,600 dialects.The two offical languages are English and
