My Research Group: GexCALL GexCALL Research Group is based on the unification of various scientific disciplines, forming an interdisciplinary core for study and research on the integration of information technologies into the teaching of modern languages through the design of hypermedia systems, e-learning platforms, gaming and virtual environments.

- Hypermedia systems, Internet, the great variety of on-line contents and the interaction among Web users have originated the use of on-line language learning systems. - In order to acquire an effective learning, a certain sense of order and organization must be followed, choosing as well the best tailored resources and contents. - There are on-line learning sites and a great variety of tools to be used for language teaching. However, help, evaluation, interaction and constructivism are also essential premises to acquire a language properly. INTRODUCTION

- Show and generate a set of tools to be integrated in a standalone platform. Tools capable of practicing all the language skills, not only the typical reading, writing, vocabulary and grammar. -Achieve a complete and effective language learning. OBJECTIVES

- CMS for on-line learning. - Moodle is a CMS with numerous possibilities. - Moodle offers standard tools, but it is essential to have aditional tools available. - We now proceed to present a classification of Moodle tools. We believe that these tools will be used for the learning of languages in a social, effective and complete way. LOOKING FOR A INNOVATIVE APPROACH

- For on-line language teaching, applications capable of operating as virtual language tutors. - The implementation of tools to ease oral communication, the inclusion of multimedia content, the recording and the reproduction of sounds, the revision of texts and the distribution of contents are needed. - Social interaction of the instructor with his/her students and constructivism are important. For this it is adequate to use Moodle. MOODLE AND ITS TOOLS
