My Carbon Footprint Recycling By Jake Guglielmino

American Consumption The average American uses 650 pounds of paper each year-100 million tons of wood could be saved if this paper was recycled. Americans use 2.5 million plastic bottles every hour. A typical family consumes 182 gallons of of soda, 29 gallons of juice, 104 gallons of milk, and 26 gallons of bottled water a year. All of these cans can be recycled.

What Recycling Can Do Recycling 1 ton of papers saves 17 trees, 2 barrels of oil. 4,100 kilowatts of energy, 3.2 cubic yards of landfill space, and 60 pounds of pollution. 17 trees saved by recycling can absorb 250 pounds of CO2 out of the atmosphere. Recycling 1 aluminum can save enough energy to run a tv for 3 hours. Americans throw away enough plastic to rebuild our entire commercial fleet of planes.

Our current recycling rate Our current recycling rate is 28% when 80% of our products are recycling
