“The aim of the Disabled Persons Housing Service (Fife) is to provide a focussed service for disabled people across Fife to access the information, advice and assistance required to obtain solutions to their housing needs, enabling them to live more independently and to direct the course of their own lives.”

 Planning ahead – DPHS(Fife) meets with:  Self Directed Support Scotland; Lothian Centre for Inclusive Living; Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living; Fife Council SDS Team  Scottish Government – Support in The Right Direction  Funding awarded for up to 3 years  Self Directed Support Options + SDS Mentor Project

 Social Care (Self Directed Support) (Scotland) Act 2013  All new referrals in Fife for social care and support will be offered an SDS assessment effective from April  Offers greater flexibility, choice, control and independence  Tailor made support  SOL Connect is used as part of SDS packages – it is an example of an innovative way to support people using technology Self Directed Support
