Learning objectives: 1.To learn about the early life of the Buddha. 2.To understand what made the Buddha want to seek answers to life’s most important questions.

The Buddha Rap 1.You will be given a sheet of information about the life of the Buddha. 2.Working in groups you are to use the information sheet to create your own ‘rap’ about the Buddha. 3.Your group will then perform to the rest of the class. It doesn’t have to be a ‘rap’. You can write a poem, a song or a story. But it must be about the life of the Buddha

There was a young man, Named Siddhatta, It was the answer to life’s questions That he was after, He grew up as a prince In a palace in Nepal, He was rich and powerful, He thought he had it all Until one day When he went out to the street, He saw a sick man With blisters on his feet, He saw an old man Who was just about to die, And he started to ask questions Like ‘How’ and ‘Why’ So he left his palace and money and possessions, And went to find answers to life’s most important questions
