HOMEWORK and TESTS Time is given in class. Homework reflects what will be on test Assignments:-written in planner and on board. Reading and Grammar Test on Friday Spelling and Vocabulary test on Thursday Writing Assessment when we complete assignment in class.

Accelerated Reading Must earn 15 points the 1 st nine weeks. Must earn 15 points with 80% Comprehension. Must take tests on their level. Can only check out chapter books. Must read daily.

Folders or Binders All subjects (in separate folders or in dividers) Do not throw anything away! Graded quizzes at end of chapters or units.

WEDNESDAY FOLDERS Sent home every WEDNESDAY. With any school-home correspondence. Please sign any papers with your full name and have child return on Thursday.

Graded Papers and Progress Reports Grades on Internet and can be checked from JPAMS parent command center. If grades fall below a C, progress report sent home. Progress reports at middle of 9 weeks Report cards at end of 9 weeks

Grades Reading Grades: Comprehension and Skill test- 50% Vocabulary Quiz and Projects-40 % Accelerated Reading- 10% Language Grades: Grammar- 40% Process Writing- 40 % Spelling- 20%

Responsibility/Conduct Codes correspond with the rules in the classroom. Informs you of student’s quality of participation in class. Conduct grade goes home every Wednesday. Conduct letter sent home if grade goes below a C for the day. Receive a reminder before a code is given.

Absences Assignments will be kept by a buddy student and worksheets. Given same number of days absent to make up work. Written excuse the next day Call or to leave a message

Daily Journals Everyday there is a journal problem of the day for the students to solve It is a word problem that is designed to improve critical thinking and to practice answering short answer math questions

Grading Every other Friday there is a basic skills test that covers basic skills As the year progresses, so do the students’ basic skills Every other Friday there is a weekly quiz covering the material for the week in class. It will be posted on the class site if any dates change.
