 Menu Bar - similar to Microsoft programs  Top toolbar  Flipchart Tabs (each open flipchart has tab, BOLD indicates active chart) allows toggling between charts  Pages  Fit / Page Scale

 Toolbox options - gray area  Docking options  Roll-up or roll-down  Pin  Main Menu – same as menu bar  Profiles  At the Board  Authoring  Language  Mathematics  Media

 Annotate over Desktop –  Use to scan worksheets, websites, word documents, etc.  Compares to clear overhead on top of your paper  Desktop Tools - have tools available without a flipchart open

 Previous and Next page  Start/Stop Flipchart vote  ExpressPoll Vote  Marquee Select  Pen – left click, to right click use the orange button  Color, Size, Highlighter, Eraser  Undo, Redo  Page Reset

 Shape  Shapes appear on right, click shape, color  Go to flip chart, click and drag your shape  Fill (bucket)  Line Connector – use to draw lines and arrows  Clear (spray bottle)

 Switch to Authoring profile  Text Box (T)  Click on page and type your name and school  To format text - Click on Marquee Select, click on text ▪ Use arrows to adjust the size of the box ▪ Move / Rotate ▪ Menu bar with options ▪ Translucency slider – brighten or dim ▪ Grouped ▪ Bring forward / Send backward ▪ Duplicate ▪ Increase /decrease size ▪ Edit text – gives you a formatting toolbar like Word

 Create a page with true or false facts using the shape and text tools.  See example on the board  30 minutes and take break in that time

 File – Save As – name flipchart  Defaults to My Flipcharts on C Drive  IMPORTANT – back up flipcharts often on H drive

 Dashboard F11 (Main Menu-View-Dashboard)  File – Open or Open Recent  Find the place you saved it…the program defaults to My Flipcharts  Flipchart will open and tab will display in menu bar at top  Close flipchart

 All are found with Tools icon in Toolbox  Spotlight—4 different options ▪ manipulate with cross ▪ size with arrow ▪ Use to focus attention on a certain area or to cover up an object  Revealer – use as a slider to hide information as it is presented ▪ Click and drag to move ▪ Save revealer – popup menu ▪ Click revealer on toolbar to close

 Clock – tool icon – more tools  3 different ways to show time  Count down, up, or pause  Move and resize clock  Tickertape – create a message to scroll on screen  4 choices – create, open, save, save as  Type message and edit  Choose position, background, color  Speed  Click (… )to get menu with 4 choices to reappear  Saves in My Tickertapes in My Resources (find using Resource browser)

 Handwriting and Shape Recognition Tools  Tool icon  Draw letter or shape and it will recognize it and make the shape  If not sure, options will appear in a drop-down box  On-screen Keyboard  Tool icon  Right-click for different sizes – primary or standard  Click S for symbols  X to close out

 Main Toolbox; Profiles; Mathematics – will show all of the following tools in your toolbar  Ruler  Protractor  Compass  XY Origin  Dice roller  Calculator

 Shows all pages in the current flipchart  Selected page – black box  Move pages up or down  Popup Menu  Insert page before or after  Cut/copy/paste  Duplicate  Delete  Move pages within two different flipchart  Click and drag page(s) up to the new flipchart tab show in the menu bar  Bold print indicates current flipchart  Hold Shift key while selecting to grab additional pages

 Ready-made resources to build flipcharts  Three things to know  Where the resources are saved at ▪ MY RESOURCES ▪ SHARED RESOURCES ▪ OTHER RESOURCES (Computer )  What the resource library contains ▪ search feature ▪ Plus signs mean more options ▪ Views  How do you get it on the page or in the My Resources library ▪ drag ▪ stamp

 Select “My resources “  Drag object over to white space  Rename object so it can be searchable  Right-click on object  Rename resource file  Type in a new name (be specific)  You should be able to search for this object in my resources  Folders can be created to help organize

 Allows you to give/receive directions for a page  Click on browser icon and begin typing your note(s).  Format Toolbox at the bottom will allow you options for formatting.  If a note is included for a page, the PAGE NOTES icon will appear at the top of the flipchart window. Click to open the notes.
