Annual inter-college Mark Webber Youth Challenges, other contests. TRAIN. Work experience, training, in partnership with businesses, supporting and developing skills and work-readiness. SUPPORT. Get sponsorship and raise funds –to provide money and support to students in need –deliver learning and development programmes.

inspire 5 3. Partnership with business Inspire’s partners, objectives and results give it kudos which will impact the companies that are providing the opportunities. –Inspire experience on CV; higher chance of getting employment –Company knows that an Inspire candidate is more likely to bring value as an employee –Inspire’s kudos gets attention and financial support of sponsors and charitable institutions. Much of Inspire’s efforts are aimed at young people from under-privileged backgrounds, but Inspire will encourage excellence and achievement in both the high-flyers and those initially less privileged.

inspire 6 3. Inspire fund-raising 1)Events –The annual Mark Webber Youth Challenge (MWYC) –An endurance race for cycling –A co-designed programme of activities under the Inspire brand 2)Central fund-raising –Commercial sponsors, training & apprenticeship providers –SEMTA and other industry organisers 3)College and student fund-raising, supported by Inspire

inspire Mark Webber Youth Challenge Annual Mark Webber Youth Challenge –May 2014 at Silverstone circuit –May 2015 at Green Park near Wendover Each college provides a team for the challenge, trains and develops their skills and engages sponsors for their own team. Hands-on involvement by Mark himself

inspire The Mark Webber Cycling Endurance Race Race at Wendover Woods national down hill track Get sponsors, open the event to outside athletes in the age category to compete alongside any students in an endurance race. Attract fundraising activity and sponsorship.

inspire Developing skills Inspire tests and challenges students to achieve something Awards at three levels but with the distinct aim of developing their skills and abilities for the world of work Event management, fundraising organizing, team building, developing social skills.

inspire Mark Webber business dinner In 2014 the Silverstone race circuit gave us track access for a lunchtime event, the whole of the Presidents Lounge for lunch for business leaders and sponsors. In 2015 we intend to hold a business dinner for sponsors at the BRDC clubhouse with Mark Webber present Date to be announced.

inspire More fund-raising events We plan a variety of inter-college activities, each with one college leading PhotographyShort film contest FutsalRugby ActingEnterprise …and any other activities that one college wants to extend across the network of colleges.

inspire Other fund-raising Inspire seeks sponsorship from large companies for overall activities Inspire seeks financial support from national and country funding sources Each college seeks sponsorship from local companies for events and contests Students raise funds

inspire 13 4.Putting our funds to work Inspire will prepare college-leavers and other young people for work … and engage with industry to create training courses, placement and work experience Input from our corporate sponsors, their influencing our activities and thereby the creation of long-term career positions. Our long-term goal and “measurable”.

inspire Putting our funds to work Sponsors:100% of funds going to active work. Sponsors can choose to support specific fund- raising activities (training, young people into work) Social contract between donor and beneficiary. Sponsor gets that extra attachment and pride in the journey the young person takes with them. Favourable PR about their Corporate Social Responsibility activities.

inspire 15 5.Inspire, the Charity Vehicle for fundraising activity including gaining corporate sponsors and individuals who wish to contribute to the programme either financially or through working with young people. The funds would be distributed to ‘students in need’ of support for which no other source of funding is easily available.

inspire Services required by Inspire Central support services: –Finance –Marketing and PR including Website –Charity, fund-raising and disbursement admin –Co ordination of Sponsors and other business leaders actively engaged with Inspire or the Youth Challenge –Co-ordination of colleges’ activity. –Oversight of event activity (all partners will need to provide some coordination too)

inspire 17 7.Inspire’s structure Each college initiates activities, with a handful of Inspire staff co-ordinating and liaising –Inspire staff promoting a) fund-raising and b) initiatives for supporting young people into work –…across multiple colleges –Aim to scale the effectiveness upwards.

inspire Commitment from Partners In order to succeed, each partner organisation will be asked to: Allocate a senior lead within organisation Pay a £2,000 subscription Sign a Memorandum of Understanding Commit to working to agreed timescales

inspire Bidding by partners for funds A clear (and simple) process is being drawn up to allow partner colleges to bid for funds from Inspire. There will be a correlation between the contributions made by each college, and the amounts they receive back.
