Introduction The identity of PAIUnet is established and strengthened by the quality of its publications. Even the appearance and content of a routine letter can enhance or detract from PAIUnet’s reputation and identity. This guide provides a standard for producing PAIUnet communications and publications. While it does not describe every document you will need to create, a sufficient number of topics are covered to provide direction for producing PAIUnet communications and publications. Whether writing a letter or producing a detailed series of reports, this guide will assist you in enhancing PAIUnet’s reputation as a high-quality, well-run statewide telecommunications delivery system. The PAIUnet is committed to producing materials that are consistent with these guidelines and is available to assist you with your communication needs. To discuss your project or for assistance, contact: PAIUnet Single Point of Contact John P. Branson, Ed.D. Chester County IU (office) (cell) Voffice:

Delivering PAIUnet’s Message The first step toward developing an “identity” is to create basic messages to be delivered in all key communications with key audiences. This is known as branding. The most important of these basic messages is the PAIUnet mission statement. It lets the public know the purpose of the IU. In addition, there are other less formal statements/descriptions that represent PAIUnet. PAIUnet’s Vision Statement: “Connecting Learners...Accelerating Results” The PAIUnet Mission Statement: PAIUnet is a statewide telecommunications delivery system developed to support the mission and purpose of intermediate units, including the exchange of K-12 educational content and educational administrative support services. PAIUnet is committed to providing high-quality, cost-effective telecommunications and support services that meet the needs of its member intermediate units, school districts, schools and libraries PAIUnet Beliefs: We believe the success of PAIUnet requires the ongoing collaboration of all 29 intermediate units. We believe that PAIUnet will… Enhance professional and student learning communities. Benefit learners through collaborative statewide opportunities. Provide an opportunity for PA’s intermediate units to work in conjunction with the Commonwealth of PA to achieve common goals. Increase collaborative efforts to deliver products, programs and services. Leverage resources to reduce costs, enhance quality and improve accessibility for educational entities. Build partnerships with entities that share a common mission. Expand research and development opportunities for PA intermediate units. We believe that effective management of PAIUnet will increase the ability to deliver educational value to PA schools. We believe that PAIUnet will be financially self-sustaining.

Graphic Identity and the PAIUnet Logo The PAIUnet logo is one of the most important tools in establishing a graphic identity and it is integral to the branding process. It is a symbol that instantly tells the audience that this is a product of PAIUnet. It should be prominent on all publications. There is only one PAIUnet logo. When in doubt about the proper way to display the logo, please contact the Single Point of Contact for clarification. Logo—placement The PAIUnet logo should be placed in a prominent location on all PAIUnet publications and correspondence. Logo—scaling The PAIUnet logo must be proportionally balanced. To scale the logo correctly, hold down the shift key while dragging a corner of the logo to the desired size. Never change the logo by compressing, expanding, distorting or changing it in any manner. Logo The color PAIUnet logo should be used when possible. When color is not available, the RIU6 logo can be used in it’s grayscale form. If color is not available, a grayscale version of the logo is available for use. To ensure sufficient contrast, it is recommended that the grayscale version only be used against a white background. If you need assistance or have questions about the logo usage, contact the Single Point of Contact.

When printing systems require different color specifications, use the following: Pantone 192C C=7; M=98; Y=62; K=1 R=237; G=22; B=81 Hex color = E5053A Pantone 293C C=97; M=63; Y=0; K=14 R=4; G=75; B=167 Hex color = #0051BA Graphic Identity and the PAIUnet Logo Preformatted Materials PAIUnet Templates PAIUnet Letterhead The PAIUnet letterhead is to be used for word processing documents such as letters, handouts, etc.

Preformatted Materials Fax Sheet PowerPoint presentation templates A selection of templates have been created for use in PowerPoint presentations. Templates include the PAIUnet logo. For assistance with using a template or creating new presentations, contact the Single Point of Contact.
