 19 Reading and 18 English score on ACT/PLAN needed to take English and other reading based courses ◦ Psychology, Sociology, Intro to Humanities, etc.  19 in Math also required for math/science class  If students don’t have the required score, Chattanooga State offers a Compass Test at the Chattanooga State Testing Center.  Visit for a testing schedule and more informationwww.chattanoogastate.edu/testing

 3 Classes in all:  Comp I and II in the fall semester (Aug- Dec)  Western World Literature in the spring semester (Jan – May)  Student must finish all three courses to earn a high school English credit – IF they drop out or don’t pass one of the classes, the student will have to take English IV.  Meets 4 days a week on the Kimball Campus  Parents of College English will pay 2 different times – Fall semester in August AND Spring semester in January

 Only for high school juniors or seniors  Must be a TN Resident for 1 year  Have to apply for the grant on-line  Deadline – June 15, 2013  May use up to $600 per semester towards cost of classes  Must maintain a college GPA of 2.75 or will lose the dual enrollment grant (The grant can’t be awarded again if student drops below the 2.75 GPA) Once it is gone, it is gone!

 Go to Go to  Go to Money for College and “Click Here”  Click “Available Grant”  Click “Dual Enrollment Grant”  Read the eligibility, guidelines, and rules  Click “On-line Application” to access  If a new user, click the red writing to access a new account  Create your account

 Save your username and password in your cell phone under a contact of “Dual Enrollment Grant”  Apply for Fall and Spring Term on your online application  Make sure you put Chattanooga State as your institution

 Once you have a tiger web account through Chattanooga State, check it frequently!!! At least once a week!!!!!  They no longer mail you or call you.  If there is a problem, they will contact you via this account.  Students last year did not check their tiger web and were billed late fees because of holds placed on their account from messages and problems that were not handled!  It is your responsibility to check your account.  All student info is found there – class schedule, grades, student account, bursar account, and paying fees  Found at click on the Tiger Web Iconwww.chattanoogastate.edu (tiger paw print) Directions are found on the login page

 Cost of 3 hr. class last semester (This will go up next year) $475  Dual Enrollment Grant funds (if done by June 15) no cost to student  For the Comp I/Comp II dual course class the cost is as follows  Cost of two 3 hour classes$950  Dual Enrollment Grant funds- 600 $350  Payment due Mid-August (pay in full or set up payment plan ($25.00 to set up payment plan)  IF DOING PAYMENT PLAN:  Deferred 1 st payment of Payment Plan August Payment (approximate)$187  Two Additional Payments $93.50Sept. Payment $93.50 Oct. Payment

 Deferred Payment Plan through the Bursar’s Office  Students can pay online or any Chattanooga State Campus  Teachers/State Employees get 25% discount  Fees can be found at
