Introduction Launch workshop aims By the end of the workshop, you will: be familiar with the potential of the discussion kit and its working. have discussed ideas for using the kit in your own areas

Introduction Why a discussion kit?

Introduction: History 2009 Regional Wellbeing Survey Group: How can we engage the public in a conversation about: the 5 ways to wellbeing, the North West Mental Wellbeing Survey and also around the issue of mental wellbeing more generally?

Introduction: 5 Ways to Wellbeing: Connect – with the people around you Be active – go for a walk or do some gardening Take notice – be curious, reflect on your experiences Keep learning – try something new Give – volunteer your time or skills

Introduction: The Discussion kit needs to…… Be straightforward to facilitate Stimulate conversation Not take too long to use Be easy to use Be easy to get hold of Get people thinking about the 5 ways to wellbeing Allow people to plan action (if they want to)

Next steps 2. Using it in your own area (30 mins) (in twos or threes) Who do you want to use the discussion kit in your own area (who are you targeting?) How will you get people to use it? What plans do you have?

Next steps You can -Use the discussion kit in your work, if you need to, download a copy from the Our Life website discussion-kit discussion-kit -Encourage others to use the kit. -Host a workshop in your area to encourage people to use the kit

Next steps You can help evaluate it -Make sure people fill in the pre-paid evaluation postcards (ten in each pack) (you can download more) -Please use the ‘Survey Monkey’ online questionnaire to give your thoughts: deal_for_wellbeing deal_for_wellbeing
