The Golgi apparatus is in both plant and animal cells It sorts, modifies, and sends proteins off Without the golgi, the protein can’t tell What its supposed to do for its job. From the ER, the proteins go to the cis face Then move and mature in the golgi Finally they leave through the trans face The golgi is like the post office, can’t you see? The vesicles are like little postmen Carrying protein mail to the cisternae The proteins go and get sent off again. The vesicles pick up them up; They can’t stay. The Golgi looks like pieces of pita bread Always changing and adding on stacks The Golgi is the best, so don’t be misled This is all true, these are the facts. GOLGI POEM
