The need of my soil!!!

1.YOU NEED TO PLOW THE SOIL. 4And as he sowed, some seeds fell by the wayside, and the birds came and devoured them.v4 19When anyone hears the Word of the kingdom and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown by the wayside. V18

Origen “You receive the body of the Lord with special care and reverence lest the smallest crumb of the consecrated gift fall to the floor. You should receive the word of God with equal care and reverence lest the smallest word of it fall to the floor and be lost.”

We turn to the nations But speaking boldly, Paul and Barnabas said, It was necessary for the word of God to be spoken to you first. But since indeed you put it far from you and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the nations. Acts 13: 46

2.YOU NEED TO PUT DOWN ROOTS. (13:5-6, 20-21) 5Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth. And they sprang up immediately, because they had no deepness of earth. 6And the sun rising, they were scorched, and because they had no root, they withered away.

Judo “You won for two reasons,” the sensei answered. “First, you’ve almost mastered one of the most difficult throws in all of judo. And second, the only known defense for that move is for your opponent to grab your left arm.” The boy’s biggest weakness had become his biggest strength because his roots went down deep as he mastered that one technique

3.YOU NEED TO PULL THE WEEDS. (13:7, 22 And some fell among thorns. And the thorns sprung up and choked them. V7

A little more An interesting article appeared in the Wall Street Journal. It was an interview of six top executives, all of them making six-figure salaries. That means that they made somewhere between $100,000 and $1 million a year. Now you are probably thinking, “If I made even $100,000 a year, I’d be in great shape. No worries, and no problems.” But in the interview each was asked, “What is your greatest fear?” Each answered pretty much the same, using different words. Their greatest fear was that they would not have enough. When they were asked, “How much is enough?” they always answered, “a little more.”

St. Gregory “The Bible is a love letter sent by God to his people in which we can perceive the heart of God.” St. Jerome said, “Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ.”
