METHYL CYANOACRYLATE BY VICTORIA TEMPLE

IS THE MOLECULE NATURRALLY OCURRING AND IS IT SYNTHESIZED? THIS MOLECULE IS NOT NATURALLY OCCURING. IT CAN BE SYNTHESIZED AND ALSO MAN MADE. WHERE DOES IT COME FROM? ITS COMES FROM THE FUNCTIONAL GROUPS OF ALKENE, NITRILE, AND METHYL ESTER.

WHEN WAS IT DISCOVERED? IT WAS DISCOVERED IN 1942 BY A TEAM OF SCIENTISTS. ESPECIALLY BY ONE KNOW AS DR. HARRY COOVER. HOW WAS IT DISCOVERED? THEY WERE TRYING TO SEARCH FOR MATERIALS TO MAKE CLEAR PLASTIC GUN SIGHTS WHEN A TEAM OF SCIENTISTS STUMBLED UPON IT AND FOUND THAT IT STUCK TO EVERYTHING IT CAME IN CONTACT WITH.

WHAT ARE THE DIRECT USES OF THIS PRODUCT? IT IS USED TO FORM AN ATTACHMENT BETWEEN TWO MATERIALS THAT IS NOT EASY TO BREAK. WHAT ARE THE INDIRECT USES OF THIS PRODUCT? WHEN BREATHED IN THIS PRODUCT CAN RELEASE HARMFUL CHEMICALS THAT MAY BE TOXIC TO THE BODY.

HOW HAS THE SYNTHESIS OF THIS MOLECULE CHANGED ITS USES/COST ? EVEN FROM THE TIME IT WAS FOUND IT WAS ALWAYS USED TO BOND MATERIALS. IT WAS MORE RARE BACK WHEN IT WAS FOUND SO IT IS MORE EASILY ACCESSIBLE AND MORE AFFORDABLE NOW.

WHAT ARE THE INDIRECT RISKS OF USING OR MAKING THIS PRODUCT? -HEATING IT CAN CAUSE HARMFUL TOXINS THAT ARE BAD TO BREATH IN -CAN REACT BADLY WITH CERTAIN CLOTHING MATERIALS

WHAT ARE THE DIRECT RISKS OF USING OR MAKING THIS PRODUCT? -TOXIC -FLAMMABLE -MOSTLY PERMANANT

WHAT ARE THE DIRECT AND INDIRECT BENEFITS FROM THIS PRODUCT? CAN HOLD THINGS TOGETHER REALLY WELL IS CHEAP TO BUY FAIRLY EASY TO MAKE ISN'T DANGEROUS AS LONG AS NOT SWALLOWED OR HEATED.

ARE THERE ALTERNATIVES THAT COULD BE USED THAT MAY LESSEN THE RISKS? KEEP AWAY FROM CLOTHING DON’T HEAT IT DON’T BREATH IT IN DON’T EAT IT
