CHILDHOOD  She was born on February fourth of 1913  Her birth place is Tuskegee, Alabama  Her birth name was Rosa Louise McCauley  Her parents were James McCauley and Leona McCauley

SCHOOL  At the age of eleven she enrolled in the Montgomery Industrial School for girls, it was a private school  She then attended the Alabama State Teachers College

ADULTHOOD  She refused to give up her bus seat to a white man  This started the bus boycott that lasted for three hundred and two days  Rosa, Dr. Martin Luther king Jr., and others formed the Montgomery Improvement Association

AFTER HUSBAND’S DEATH  After Raymond Parks’ death in 1977, Rosa founded the Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute for Self-Development  Rosa also got the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1996  She also got another medal in 1999; a Congressional Gold Medal

DEATH  She spent her last years in Detroit living peacefully  In 2005 she died at the age of ninety-two
