 Theatrical representation of a story that is performed to music by trained dancers music written for a ballet.  An artistic dance form performed to music using precise and highly formalized set steps and gestures.  Three types: Classical, contemporary and modern.  wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn 

 Born on January 31, 1881, in St. Petersburg, Russia.  Classical dancer  She graduated from the Imperial Ballet School in 1899 at the age of 18.  The Dying Swan was her most famous showcase.  She went to South America in 1917; in 1919 she visited Bahia and Salvador. A 1920–21 American tour represented Pavlova's fifth major tour of the United States in ten years, and in 1923 the company traveled to Japan, China, India, Burma, and Egypt. South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand were given a glimpse of Pavlova in 1926, and the years 1927 and 1928 were dedicated to a European tour.

 Pavlova died in The Hague, Netherlands, on January 22, 1931

 Margaret Hookham was born on 18 May 1919 in Reigate, Surrey  Classical dancer  She was famous for her portrayal of Aurora in Tchaikovsky's The Sleeping Beauty.  She danced with the Royal Ballet  By 1939, Fonteyn had performed principal roles in Giselle, Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty and was appointed Prima Ballerina.

 She died on February 21, 1991 in a hospital in Panama City, Panama.

 Born April 27, 1969, London, England  At the age of sixteen she was accepted at the Royal Ballet Upper School in London.  1988 she was given the leading role in his ballet “The Prince of the Pagodas”  In 2006 she announced her retirement as a principal dancer at the Royal Ballet.

 Despite retiring from the professional stage, Bussell remains deeply involved in the dance world.
