Multidisciplinary Frontiers of Magnetic Resonance EMAR Research Networking Program Launched April 13th 2007

EMAR motivation: bridging gaps National societies and discussion groups are not coordinated (European dimension) Different specialities talk different scientific dialects (Interdisciplinarity) Cutting edge developments diffuse slowly to the users. Capabilities of state of the art instrumentation in isolated locations may not be always used because of knowledge barriers (Training)

EMAR Objectives Facilitate, intregrate and disseminate the work carried out by National NMR and EPR communities in Europe (NETWORKING) Stimulate the development of MR in interdisciplinary areas by coordination and exchange between groups in different areas (EXPLORATION) Promote the transition of concepts and techniques from the frontiers to basic users (TRAINING)

Multidisciplinary Frontiers of Magnetic Resonance (EMAR) Prof. Geoffrey Bodenhausen, Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris, France Prof. Beat Meier, ETH Zurich, Switzerland Prof. Miquel Pons, IRB, Universitat de Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain 18 Member Organisations from 16 countries contribute to this program: Fonds zur Förderung der Wissenschaftlichen Forschung (FWF), Austria Fonds voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek - Vlaanderen(FWO), Belgium NMR Centre of the Rudjer Boskovic Institute, Croatia Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Czech Republic Czech Science Foundation (GACR), Czech Republic Estonian Science Foundation, Estonia Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), France Max-Planck-Gesellschaft (MPG), Germany Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Hungary Hungarian Scientific Research Fund (OTKA), Hungary Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnología (FCT), Portugal Slovak Academy of Sciences, Slovak Republic Slovenian NMR Center, Slovenia Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), Spain Comisión Intermininisterial de Ciencia y Tecnología (CICYT), Spain Swedish Research Council, Sweden the Swiss National Science Foundation, Switzerland ESF RNP Administrator: Chantal Durant ESF Science Officer Liaison: Patrick Bressler
