Hurricane Sandy Hurricane sandy started in Cuba and moved to too New York and New Jersey. It was a category 3 Hurricane. At least 286 people were killed in seven different countries. It was the 2 nd major hurricane of the year. In Jamaica 70% of the residents were left without power.

The destruction of Pompeii many people in pompeii spoke Greek and Latin. A few other towns were destroyed by the blast 1 is Herculaneum. Mt. Vesuvius erupted in A.D 79. pompeii is found in Italy close to Naples. Pyroclastic flows can incinerate the body and kill almost Instantly.

The Titanic The titanic set sail on April 10, 1912 at Southampton England. It sank on April % of the people who died on Board were men. Only 705 people survived. There was a lifeboat drill but captain Smith canceled it. A first class passenger paid $4,350 for a parlor suite ticket and $150 for a berth ticket. Most of the people who survived were first class passengers.

Hurricane Katrina Hurricane Katrina was a category 3 hurricane on the Saffir- Simpson scale. More than 1, 700 people were killed and hundreds of thousands without a home. The winds speeds reached up to 145 miles- per -hour. More than 10,000 people were inside the super dome. Survivors moved to start a better life as far away as Massachusetts and Utah. Some of the levees and canals broke and crumbled. Hurricane Katrina left three states without power.
