Dr. Lory Morrow will begin serving as superintendent of Davidson County Schools on January 1, The Superintendent’s Entry and Learning Plan outlines goals and activities to be completed during her first 100 days in office. This plan was designed based on her beliefs that the role of the superintendent is one of public service. The plan will allow Superintendent Morrow the opportunity to establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders while gaining a deeper understanding of the strengths and challenges facing Davidson County Schools. The Superintendent’s Entry and Learning Plan includes a series of meetings and listening sessions along with a process of research and exploration for Superintendent Morrow to: Assess the organization’s strengths, challenges and opportunities Establish relationships with all internal and external stakeholders Establish a positive presence in the community Develop a coalition of support for the development of a plan for continuing academic progress for all students Superintendent’s Entry and Learning Plan -Dr. Lory D. Morrow

This plan is based on Superintendent Morrow’s heartfelt belief that the student is at the center of all we do each and every day. The development of the whole child happens inside the classroom as students learn to think critically, work together to solve problems and explore interests in order to become career and college ready. Assess the strengths and weaknesses of all academic programs Assess the current financial situation Assess operational efficiencies and alignment Establish a positive Superintendent-Board relationship Establish positive working relationships with administrators, teachers and support staff Establish a positive presence in the community The activities in this Superintendent’s Entry and Learning Plan are based on the following goals for Davidson County Schools:

Intended outcomes of the Superintendent’s Entry and Learning Plan will include a comprehensive report outlining all activities and findings. The report will also include proposed strategies for system-wide improvements. These findings will be used as a springboard for the Strategic Planning process. Phase 1-Listening and Learning In Phase 1, the Superintendent will engage in a series of listening and learning activities, which includes individual interviews with the Board of Education, and internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, internal and external documents and data will be collected for analysis and planning. Phase 2-Planning In Phase 2, the Superintendent, Cabinet and administrators will analyze the interview data and identify trends and themes across the information received from stakeholders. The trends and themes will be prioritized and identified as strengths and possible opportunities for district improvement. Phase 3-Leading The final phase of the Superintendent’s Entry and Learning Plan will culminate with a report of the findings and include recommendations to the Board of Education. Superintendent Morrow will begin implementing the recommended strategies to increase student achievement and organizational efficiency. The Superintendent’s Entry and Learning Plan consists of three phases:

Our Goal: To ensure ALL students are career and college ready!!
