GREEK MYTHS AND GODS DAY-DAY A.KA. DASHAWN CALDWELL

How is Greek religion different to ours? GREEK RELIGION IS DIFFERENT FROM MINES BECAUSE WE BELIEVE IN ONE GOD.

Who was the ruler of the Olympian gods? Zeus WAS THE RULER OF THE OLYMPIAN. ALSO THE FATHER OF MANY GODS

CAN YOU NAME SIX GODS Zeus Poseidon HADES Ares Apollo Hephaestus

CAN YOU NAME TWO GREEK MYTHOLOGY STORIES According to the Greeks, Hercules was the son of a woman named Alcmene and the god Zeus. He was a great hero, and very strong. Even when he was only a few days old, Hercules was very strong. The goddess Hera was angry, because Zeus was her husband and she didn't want him to have children with other women. So she sent two huge snakes to strangle the little baby. But Hercules just sat up and grabbed those snakes and strangled them!ZeusHera Helen, the daughter of Zeus and the queen of Sparta, was the most beautiful young woman in the world. She lived in Sparta with her mother and her father, the king of Sparta, and her half-sister, Clytemnestra. All the young men wanted to marry her. Her stepfather (the king of Sparta) was afraid that if he said she could marry one of the suitors (the men who wanted to marry her), all the other suitors would fight him, and there would be a big war. (Yes, Helen was that beautiful. It's a story). So Helen's stepfather had an idea. He got all the suitors together in one place and made them all swear to protect Helen and her marriage, whichever one of them got to marry her. So they all swore. Then the king (Helen's stepfather) had the suitors all compete in athletic games. The one who won was Menelaus, and so he married Helen. Helen's sister Clytemnestra married Agamemnon, king of Mycenae, Menelaus' older brother.ZeusSpartamarry stepfathermarriageathletic gamesMenelausAgamemnonMycenae

Who are your favorite gods and why? Aphrodite is one of my favorite goddess because she the god of love. RIGHT now I'm looking for love. Also I think love is more then just a word. It’s a very strong word.

Why did the Greeks tell mythological stories? One reason why Greeks tell mythological stories because different people probably have different reasons for believing a story or a myth.

What is your favourite Greek mythology story and why? My favorite mythology story is the one about Hercules. The reason for that is because its interesting to me. Also I wonder how can someone mother hate them so much to try to kill them. Also because Hercules was a brave and strong man.

Can you name some famous Greek heroes and can you mention a story that made them famous? There are many Greek heroes. Zeus Poseidon Hades Hestia Hera Ares Athena Apollo Aphrodite Hermes Artemis Hephaestus One story that made one of them famous is the story about Apollo. Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto. His twin sister is Artemis. He is the god of music, playing a golden lyre. The Archer, far shooting with a silver bow. The god of healing who taught man medicine. The god of light. The god of truth, who can not speak a lie. One of Apollo's more importaint daily tasks is to harness his chariot with four horses an drive the Sun across the sky.ZeusLetoArtemis He is famous for his oracle at Delphi. People travled to it from all over the greek world to devine the future. His tree was the laurel. The crow his bird. The dolphin his animal.
