Nicolas Simar Budapest’s TF-NGN meeting, October 2002 Testbed

Nicolas Simar Budapest’s TF-NGN meeting, October 2002 Why a testbed? Number of service having to co-exist increases (QoS, multicast, etc) Verify if the OS upgrade impacts the functionality/services and compatibility between different router vendors. Test of new services and features. If all goes well, kits can be ordered the 1st of October...

Nicolas Simar Budapest’s TF-NGN meeting, October 2002 Testbed The testbed will be available for the NRENs Testbed consists of several Cisco and Juniper routers distributed on GÉANT. –three M-20s, two 7000s and one GSR –the routers will be distributed in GÉANT The tests routers are connected to the GÉANT routers via STM-1.

Nicolas Simar Budapest’s TF-NGN meeting, October 2002 Testbed Interconnection between test routers via the MPLS/CCC functionality (carrying L2 frames across GÉANT). Additional equipment: –Linux based PCs –Traffic generators (SmartBits) –Ideally, should have a routes generator. Question?
