Section Florida Statute: (6) LOCAL ASSESSMENTS.— (a) Measurement of student performance in all subjects and grade levels, except those subjects and grade levels measured under the statewide, standardized assessment program described in this section, is the responsibility of the school districts. (b) Except for those subjects and grade levels measured under statewide, standardized assessment program, beginning with the school year, each school district shall administer for each course offered in the district a local assessment that measures student mastery of course content, at the necessary level of rigor for the course. Such assessments may include: 1. Statewide assessments. 2. Other standardized assessments, including nationally recognized standardized assessments. 3. Industry certification assessments. 4. District-developed or district-selected end-of-course assessments. 5. Teacher-selected or principal-selected assessments. (Statute amended by Senate Bill 1642 lines ) (d) The Commissioner of Education shall identify methods to assist and support districts in the development and acquisition of assessments required under this subsection. Methods may include developing item banks, facilitating the sharing of developed tests among school districts, acquiring assessments from state and national curriculum-area organizations, and providing technical assistance in best professional practices of test development based upon state- adopted curriculum standards, administration, and security.

Administration Window District EOCs will be administered during the final week of each course. The assessment windows will occur as follows:  Half-credit courses:  January 12 – January 15, 2015  June 1 – 4, 2015  Full-credit courses: June 1 -4, 2015 Administration Format District EOCs will delivered in a paper/pencil format  Scanned/scored EOCs will impact student grades in the following manner: Grades 6 through 12: District EOCs will count for 20% of a student’s final grade Grades K through 5: District EOCs will not impact student grades, but are required.

The Writing Component for Grades 4-7 will be paper- based in for both the field test and the operational test. The Writing Component session length will be 90 minutes and students may continue working, if needed, up to 120 minutes.
