Steam Demon The Steam Demon is one of the three “cloud” Demons, the other two being the Ash and Mist Demons. It isn’t as durable as the other two, but it has very high reflex. The “cloud” Demons each have the Water Element somewhere, and they all share the Shroud ability, which is by far the simplest method of defense that a Demon can use. The Steam Demon has water as its Primary element, and as it upgrades it gains the ability to use Water for attack, instead of just defense. Essential and Ancient Steam Demons As Steam Demons upgrade, they lose their cohesive, cloudlike form and change into writhing masses of steam tentacles. Rather than increasing in hands, Steam Demons get lots and lots of reflex as they upgrade, as well as a moderate amount of extra EP. Essential and Ancient Steam Demons don’t have any defensive abilities, but the Essential Steam Demon can deal quite a bit of damage, and the Ancient Steam Demon is very effective at slowing opponents down, leaving you the time you need to finish them off. Elder Steam Demon The Elder Steam Demon is everything that its earlier forms were, only more so. Its body is completely transformed into tentacles except for its eye and hand, both of which can appear at any point on the Demon’s body. The tentacles that make up an Elder Steam Demon’s body have changed, as they can now pass through each other. It isn’t clear how they can do this while staying solid. An Elder Steam Demon might seem sluggish at first appearance, but this is because it takes incredible power just to move its body. A touch from an Elder Steam Demon’s hand hits as hard as a train, and carries enough heat to turn solid rock into gas. The eye of an Elder Steam Demon has a strange effect on anything it gazes at: it changes their perception of time. While the eye is open, the effect is hard to notice, but it can make a person’s heartbeat stop when it closes. Elder Steam Demon 23 reflex1 hand325 EP Physical Attacks Vaporize: Deals 75 damage. Specials All the “cloud” Demons can take advantage of a unique Special Attack called Corporeal Transposition, which is a fancy way of saying that it lets the Demon teleport. This teleportation doesn’t let the Demon bring along weapons, but it does let it switch places with a Demon already in play, allowing the Demons to trade weapons. The Steam Demon also has its own Special Attack, Chromatic Refraction, which lets it use Water and Fire together to blast a wide area with laser beams. If the slot is full, move the occupying Demon to this Demon’s original slot. Weapons and Ammo do not move with the Demons, but Special Attacks do. This Demon can’t take the place of a demon holding a weapon that requires more hands than this Demon has. If this Demon has a weapon and moves to an empty slot, the weapon is dropped.
