Snacks are important! Picking the right snack can help you be healthy!

Busy kids need healthy snacks Why? O To help you stay alert O To give you energy O To keep you from being “grumpy!”

Some snacks might give you a quick burst of energy, but then leave you feeling tired and sluggish.

To feel full of energy you have to pick just the right snack! O Steer clear of foods with extra sugar, such as soda, candy bars and sweets. O Avoid snacks like chips that are full of fat. These snacks will make you feel full and give you a quick burst of energy, but they will quickly wear off and leave you hungry and tired.

Pick snacks that will help you feel full and give you energy for a long time.

Snacks can help you from getting too hungry and overeating at your next meal.

The perfect snack should be a “mini” meal, but NOT a meal wrecker! Mini Meal Meal Wrecker

A “mini” meal is a snack that will give you just the right amount of fuel to keep you going until your next meal.

A meal wrecker is a snack that is so filling that you wont’ be hungry at your next meal. Skipping meals isn’t healthy!

How to be a healthy snacker! Make a list of healthy snacks that you like to eat. Add them to the grocery list. Put the snacks in little bags so they are ready to grab and go. Always keep an extra snack with you incase you get hungry!

WARNING! O Eating snacks out of their package could be dangerous to your health! O You may eat too much! To keep snacks healthy you should put them in snack bags!

What is a good snack? O A good snack has fiber and protein. O A good snack is in a single serving bag so you won’t eat to much. O A good snack will give you energy until it is time for you to eat your next meal. O A good snack is YUMMY!
