BOB DYLAN By Paige Powell

Bob Dylan Born May 24, 1941 in Duluth, Minnesota Birth name Robert Allen Zimmerman Singer-songwriter, musician, author, poet, and artist. Many of his songs used as Civil Rights and anti-war anthems.

Education Attended Hibbing High School. Studied rock and roll at the University of Minnesota; but later formed an interest in American folk music.

His beginning The Shadow Blasters and The Golden Chords. Performances at the Ten O’clock Scholar. Actively involved in Dinkytown – folk music circuit. Inspired by Woody Guthrie’s music, he relocated to New York in January 1961.

Singing to protest Performed with Joan Baez at the March on Washington in Walked out of the Ed Sullivan Show. Began to feel manipulated and constrained by the protest movements.
