Use it, Interconnect it, AutoMate IT™ ( Based on the FlexiMax 9000 Technology)

Product Features Fully customizable home automation system Easy to use Plug and Play Interface Extends and expands to fit any installation Modularized components allow for D.I.Y installation Fully customizable rule-based logic Open development standard allows for wide range of third party devices.

Modularized Design Data Gatherers (Input Devices) Light sensors Temperature sensors Tactile sensors (i.e reed switches) Motion sensors Keypads Remote Controls (infra-red) GSM controller Real time clock Data Actuators (Output Devices) Speakers/buzzers/sirens Automated light switch/dimmer Motors and actuators LCD displays Multimedia switchboxes

System Example Automatic Light control System

System Example Description Motion sensors in each room detect movement Outdoor light sensor to detect evening Automatically switches on lights in rooms where motion is present Randomly switch on lights when not at home Can control normal lights or dimmer lights (i.e. can slowly turn on the lights in the morning as an alarm clock)

Technical Specifications Interconnect system based loosely on the USB system Tiered star topology to ease wiring problems Devices identify themselves when connected. Central unit acts like the USB Host Controller Multiple connection systems can include conventional wiring systems, A.C. Mains Modems or wireless devices Various command and setup interfaces include LCD and keypad system and Ethernet connection. Modules to handle multimedia streaming are a possiblity.

Connectivity Diagram Central Unit MotorSensor Direct Wired Connections Hub Wireless A.C. Mains Modem Sensor Motor Sensor Motor Sensor Motor Wired

Connectivity Diagram Wireless hubs allows conventional wiring to devices reducing the complexity of the input/output modules. A.C. Mains modems allow most flexible installations in existing buildings and can be coupled directly to sensors and motors. Wireless external devices increase security by not exposing interface bus directly. Wired connects will implement a USB-like system where power is also provided. Lower transfer speed allows increased range

Target Market System is targeted at the consumer market Modularity of the system caters for both the D.I.Y market and professional installations. Providing hardware and/or software to allow other companies to produce modules will generate licensing income. Modularity also reduces the maintenance responsibilities as the guarantee is only on the modules and not the system as a whole.

Possible Implementations Audio switching between rooms (i.e. music that follows you from room-to-room) Simple unobtrusive devices such as light controller: –Fits between socket and light bulb –Contains wireless microcontroller for seamless control of light Doorbell with memory function (can take messages) Control of multimedia devices (through IR transmitter)
