Words Their Way Spelling - Vocabulary - Word Work Grade 1

Research has shown that children do not transfer performance on “traditional spelling tests” to everyday writing. Children learn best by active involvement and practice with the task at hand. Words Their Way allows them to see word and letter patterns for themselves.

The Basis for Word Study / Word study is developmental / Word study follows the continuum of word knowledge. / Most students follow the same continuum, but possibly at different rates.
