CARNA H&I Subcommittee WHAT? “RSC H&I Subcommittee serves the needs of all the areas within the region by conducting activities that promote the growth and strength of all H&I efforts and needs with the Region and the fellowship.” Membership – Open to any addict of CARNA Maintain a budget of 7 th Tradition funds to provide: – Literature for addicts without access to meetings – Training for Areas – Develop new ways to reach addicts that do not currently receive H&I support

CARNA H&I Subcommittee WHY? Help our groups fulfill the 5 th tradition “That any addict can lose the desire to use and find a new way to live” There are still addicts that need NA but are not able to get the message Professionals are not always aware of the services NA can provide

CARNA H&I Subcommittee HOW? Hold bi-monthly subcommittee meetings: When: 3 rd Saturday of every odd month 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Where: Follow a rotational schedule throughout the regions 4 quadrants Respond to letters from Inmates throughout the region requesting information about NA Provide training for areas of CARNA as requested Maintain accurate information about number of H&I commitments within CARNA Develop new programs – Service member development – Inmate Step Writing – Live Stream Meetings for addicts that do not have access to H&I Stay informed about new programs throughout the world and act as liaison to World Service Office H&I

CARNA H&I Subcommittee Opportunities Inmate Step Writing Project – Policy review – November Subcommittee meeting – Policy submission - December RSC – Roll out to Region at AVCNA and build volunteer base – Have volunteers report to March ’15 Subcommittee meeting – Roll out to facilities upon SATISFACTORY resourcing of effort Live Stream Meetings – 2 practice meetings are complete – Next meeting will be October 21 st at 8:45 p.m. (See call in instructions on slide 10) – Seeking experienced members to call in and share. to request more Meetings with Professionals – Working with CARNA PI to establish contacts with Professionals Training/Mentoring and Service Member Development – Develop training modules and make available to all areas through the CARNA Website
