More Than Bruises Are Left Behind by A Bledsoe

Background Information This photo was created April 2, 2009 to raise awareness for child abuse. It was created by a high school student for his for photo shop class.

What is the appeal to logos? The appeal to logos is child abuse is wrong and hurtful in so many ways on the inside and the outside. People don’t normally understand the corruption involved.

What is the appeal to ethos? The appeal to ethos is the descriptive words in the background creating a vision of reality for people who have never been abused.

What is the appeal to pathos? The appeal to pathos is child abuse is wrong. People are going to feel many emotions such as sypmpathy or anger for this little girl being abused.

Who is the intended audience? The intended audience is anyone who knows about child abuse and can/should do something to help it.

What do the words in the background do to the picture? They tell the person looking at the picture how the girl truly feels on the inside. Not only are people leaving bruises on the outside but they are causing her depression, anger, anxiety, poor health, eating disorders, suicide, dissociation. Things that people wouldn’t normally notice.

Why is the picture made of dark colors? The picture consists of dark colors to portray the emotions children feel on the inside when being abused. Children feel hurt and depressed and often unloved.
