Course Requirements Formal/informal writing Speeches Research based project on promoting a non- profit Variety of literature Independent reading Classroom texts Quizzes Discussions including Socratic Seminars

Grading Policy Every assignment is graded These assignments are worth pts. To receive full credit, work must be handed in on time the day it’s due. Anything handed in after that will receive no higher than a 65. Opportunity to revise writing! Pre- and post-assessment

Students may be required to stay after school to complete missed work. If your child will be out for more than two days, please contact his/her guidance counselor and have your work sent home It is the student’s responsibility to check the absence drawer for missed work. Missed work must be made up within two days to two weeks, depending on the length of absence. Absent from school?
