DREAM HOME Teen Living Interior Design Assignment

Dream Home Assignment Using home/interior design magazines. Find and paste your dream home onto the paper given to you. Must include the following requirement rooms: ●Exterior of home ●Kitchen ●Master Bedroom ●Living Room

● Must include rooms of 3 out of the 7 given: o Guest room o Dining Room o Bathroom o Patio o Bedroom o Nursery o Play room/entertainment room

What you need to WRITE: ● for each room-you will need to write what about the room attracts you to it--why would you include it in your dream home? ● For at least 5 rooms you MUST include what principles and elements of design are being emphasized and highlight them with a HIGHLIGHTER. ● You must include the main color scheme being used in your dream home and define it--as well as draw an illustration with markers, crayons or colored pencils. ● Include what each room will be used for--sleeping, cooking, eating, cleaning, hygiene, entertainment, social, etc... ● Have fun with it and get the creative juices flowing--be sure to keep in mind the principles and elements of design!!!

Exterior of Home: This Craftsman style home would be included in my dream home because of the warmness and hominess it makes me feel. The large front deck and the symmetrical window designs. Master Bedroom: This formally balanced masterbedroom would be an inviting and comfortable living space to sleep. It is formal due to the lamps, end tables, pillows, pictures, and chairs all being the same. Kitchen: If you haven't noticed by now I have stuck to a neutral grey color scheme bringing a brightness as well as a warmth to the house. The kitchen is not too big and not too small and will fullfill the needs being done in it. Also, the bright white of the cabinets and countertops makes me feel generally happy. As well as the classic wooden flooring. The large verticle cabinet lines draw the eyes up and makes the kitchen feel powerful, clean, and orderly. Bathroom: I love the space in the bathroom giving it a lot of walking space as well as room to get ready in the morning. As well as once again sticking to the grey neutral theme. I also love the natural light provided in the room as well as a chandelier. The lines and rythum in the flooring give direction from point A to point B

B edroom 2: in this bedroom I love the focus of colors and the headboard being the focal point. It immediately draws your eye to it as well as the bold coral color of the room. The room itself looks inviting and the bed like a cloud. Living Room: in my dream living room I have included a light subtle blue as well as blacks/greys to tie into the greys of the wall. I can see many people coming over and being in this room. The curved lines of design on the pillows and the ottoman draws the eye around in a pleasing way and also makes it formal and softens the room. I love that an open window door leads into a dining room. The focal point being the bright floral picture on the wall--or the ottoman/pillows. Bedroom 3: When having an additional rooms. It is always fun to include fun pops of color. The colors in this room includes a red, blue and yellow--which makes this split complementary. The curved lines on the carpet provides rythum, and movement in the room and allows the eye to draw up to the bed. Patio: This patio allows cover during the day and a fan for summer, and a fire place (focal point) during the nightes when you want to cuddle up with some hot cocoa and a book and stay warm by the fire.

Dream Home Conclusion In conclusion my dream home focuses on neutral tones of grey and whites. The greys and whites give the room an open feeling as well as reflects natural light. Often in my dream home you would see formal balances because similarities attracts my eye. I also enjoy different patterns in the room that allows rhythm to draw my eyes from point A to point B. My dream home would be big enough to only fit my needs. I would see my family growing up in the home and it remaining a warmth that this home really does bring.
