Intro Japan is a chain of Islands off of Asia, consisting of much culture and tradition. It is a thunderous build-up of landforms and natural disasters but that’s what makes it Japan.

Japan is made up of 4 major islands. Honshu, the biggest, then Hokkaido, Kyushu, and the smallest,Shikoko.

Location As we said, Japan is an island chain off the coast of east Asia, and between the North Pacific sea and the sea of Japan. It contains mostly mountains, and not much arable land.

Food!!!!!!!!!! In Japan, they eat many foods that Americans may not be used to. (like fish eggs) (yuck!) Their main product is fish! Big fish small fish, and poisonous fish! The most popular fish in Japan carries deadly toxins, that if not cooked right, could kill you. Have fun!

Mt. Fuji is like Japan’s Mt. Everest. Only it has a catch. Japan’s highest peak of all is also a volcano waiting to erupt. People come every year to Japan, to try to summit it. It is a dangerous journey, that many people die on.

On the journey up Fuji, unlike Everest, you record your memories on the robe you wear. On every certain point that you summit, you will have experiences to record, that no gift in the world could beat.

Fuji Fuji from birds eye view.

Japanese Etiquette Japanese etiquette is much like Chinese etiquette. Some of the rules are: burping and slurping is a compliment for the cook. NEVER wave chopsticks in the air-it is impolite. always ask before unwrapping a gift. The person took time to wrap it so it should be admired. Always buy a gift that isn’t very expensive. It is proper to return the deed, so don’t spend too much money. don’t wave chopsticks over food, or stab at your food. always ask before coming into a person’s home. It is also polite to remove your shoes.

Land of the rising sun In Japan, Believed that the sun rose first to them, because they were the center. Japan is now known as the land of the rising sun, due to this theory

Samurai The Samurai were the defenders of Japan, who dedicated their lives to fighting. Samurai's were trained from a young age to be tough, strong, and fearless. A Samurai's most faithful partner is his horse who carries him, and his sword who protects him. But Samurai’s were always prepared for any weapon layed into their hands. Samurai also believed that you should die respected Many people committed suicide by stabbing themselves in the abdomen with a dagger. Samurai's would rather die of suicide, which is thought of as holy or respected, rather in war, being captured shamefully.

Shinto Shinto is the native religion of Japan and was once the state religion. Shinto is an animism belief system which means the belief in spirits. Shinto was no longer Japan’s state religion after World War II but is still consider being a native religion of Japan. The practices that were thought in the war are no longer practiced today. There are 3 different types of Shinto’s: 1. Shrine Shinto which is the oldest and most command type. It was always apart of Japan’s history. 2. Sect Shinto formed 13 groups in the 19th century and worship mountains like Mount Fuji. 3. Folk Shinto believed in spirits, but most come from local ancient traditions.

Wii!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shigeru Miyamoto, general manager of Nintendo, created the ever so popular Wii, and introduced it to the whole world. It’s feature game, Wii Sports, is the best selling game, created in Tokyo, Japan.

Donkey Kong! The guy who created the Wii, who’s name I cannot pronounce also made up……Donkey Kong!

Naruto is a popular T.V show in Japan. It all began 12 years before the main focus kicks in, when the nine tailed demon fox attacks the village, Konohagakure with his tails strong enough to start Tsunamis and even crush mountains, slaughtering all in his sight, until The FourthHokage leader of Konohagakure sacrificed his life to seal the demon in Naruto’s body. He, who to the town was like a hero, wanted people to respect Naruto like they did him. Instead, the town treats Naruto like he is the demon himself. He was shunned and mistreated throughout his childhood, trying to find his way through life. The third Hokage however had made a decree that no one was to speak of the attack. This did not stop him from being teased. He grew up as an orphan without a family or any friends. The only way he fit in was through his mischief and pranks. but that soon would change. After a while, he graduated from the ninja academy, for he had used Shadow Clone Technique( from a forbidden scroll which he was tricked into stealing) to save his teacher, from the ninja, mizuki. He then is graduated and that’s where the story takes place. Ninjas originated in Japan, after the creation of the Samurai. Shinto is used in this show. Spiritual beliefs and how Naruto, the main character dresses is part of the Shinto belief. It was also created in Japan.
