Plan of the work for next 6 months -Possibilities/problems in tourism How many tourists/ Japanese tourists come to SK?? My primary question and interest to study in this country. -Research work on tourism -Promotion of (green) tourism in SK, Ireland and Japan. What can bring tourists? what can attract tourists? natural attraction - incl. national park world (natural) heritage site cultural attraction - incl. world (cultural) heritage site, festivals --name brand(national park, world heritage)?? Any other fact to attract tourists?

Tourism Promotion/Advertisements ----Media sources (push and pull) poster -TV -radio -magazine -web -what is the most/more effective way of the promotion? questions to tourists. more visible (effective) advertisement from SK to abroad. (how many Japanese tourists come to SK?? my primary question and interest to study in this country.)

Slovak tourism agency -Slovakia Tourism. -8 languages contents- sk, en, fr, de, hu, ru, ne, po. -various photos, videos. inquiry/polls, weather forecasts, currency calculator, downloads, articles ---interesting site for tourists. but how many people look at that? how many foreign(european, american, asian, african) people come up with the idea to have holiday in SK? image of the country. Tatra mountains? caves? forests? how people get the image???

SK can be the holiday/leisure attractive place? Yes, how? natural/historical/cultural resources – who knows about them? (any existed problems or foreseen problems in the future? ) tourism = economic resource tourism - cost effective industry green tourism, cultural/historical management pressure from tourism to the existed system – resilience? (Adaptive capacity to cope with pressure.)

Japan image of the country-”oriental” Japan Tourism Agency -established in October 2008 under ministry of land, infrastructure, transport and tourism. promotion is -? Poor/weak. poor information on English version (last update on october 2008 to tell the Agency has opend ) problems- soil erosion, over-crowded in natural sites (Mt.Fuji, Oze-Nikkou) by intensive tourism cultural attraction - fair enough natural attraction ?? as a market - Japan is one of the emerging tourist market (missing nature?)

Ireland -Tourism Ireland. (Failte Ireland and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board) funded by the Irish Government and the Northern Ireland. tourism succeeded in tourism-attract 6millions people per year. (Irish population-4million) cooperation between Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland +pros economical resources- high percentage (how much?) through whole year by mild weather (cool summer, warm winter) -cons soil erosion in Wicklow mountain NP water contamination in Killarney NP pressure from tourism and farmland.

Practical experiences(possibilities) Ireland Volunteer conservation ranger work in Killarney National park. SK Internship in British Embassy in Bratislava/ UN office in Bratislava Japan Ministry of Environment? Tourism Agency?
