Involvement ● Keeping St Chad's going ● Regular worship ● Seeing St Chad's as my church ● Occasional attendance ● Being in touch ● Knowing that the church is here Moving people up the ladder!
What St Chad's offers ● Regular worship and fellowship ● Christian presence at key moments ● Church members involved in community developments ● Church & hall for community use ● Community wildlife garden ● Concern for the wider world – more than £800 collected in Christian Aid Week
A jigsaw of fellowship ● “Every Sunday each person in the congregation represents an essential and unique part of the jigsaw that is St Chad’s at worship.” ● Read more in May's Parish Magazine ● Two jigsaws – one physical and this idea – are at the centre of the Stewardship Campaign
Financial context ● We did not pay our Parish Share in 2012 ● We were (at least) £1,700 short ● “this parish ranks 11,116 out of 12,706 … among the most deprived in the country” ● The message to our supporters is: – St Chad's needs more money – Not necessarily your money – But it does need your support
Why are we paying more? ● In 1963 the Church Commissioners paid for 75% of stipends. ● Today, they contribute 18% of stipendiary costs in this Diocese
