Contact Information  Kaplan  AIM: sallyjanello. Put my name in your buddy list. Then you will know when I am online.  Feel free to visit anytime you see me online. I'm always glad to talk with you.

DB  We usually have 2 discussion board questions each week. Be sure to use the dropdown box to access them all.  The DB is worth 20 points each week.  If you'd like to get top scores, post early and often.  "I agree" or "good job" does not count as a post.

Seminars We are very lucky at Kaplan to have live seminars where we can discuss and apply the concepts. I feel that this is a major learning component of the class. Typical week  Always check weekly Announcements. That is where instructors communicate important information about each unit.  We have a chapter or two to read, the discussion board (DB), and projects starting in unit 2.

Projects  We have 2 case studies, three 1-2 page projects, and a final paper.  The case studies (CS) and projects are reflective papers. What that means is that you will demonstrate your understanding by applying the concepts in your own words.

 The final is a research paper. The Final is due at the end of Unit 9. The Final is due at the end of Unit 9.  No quizzes, no tests.

 Kaplan has a terrific Writing Center. If you have any problems with grammar, usage, organizing ideas, paragraphing, the WC is a great resource.  You are expected to write at the college level in 400 courses.

Doc Sharing – our own class library! (These are for my section. If you are in a different section, be sure to check what your instructor has put in doc sharing.)  Syllabus  Class Hints  Writing help – paraphrasing,, thesis, essay writing  DB expectations  Plagiarism/Turnitin  Final  Case study guidelines and sample case study

Class Hints  Check with your instructor about whether to use headings or cover pages on your papers.  Use correct grammar in all your writing. Present yourself professionally.  Ask questions!  Don’t let problems build. Contact your instructor.

Enjoy the class!
