The Horizons Program By: Emily Krulac and Delaney Banzhof and Hannah Vorbeck

Summary Horizons is a program for overachieving and gifted students. In Horizons, we don’t accept a meeting the standard piece of work. We want it to exceed!

Different Activities In first grade, they start out with simple algebra, like “fish + 5 = 10”. Same but more complicated in second grade. In third grade, we do a unit called “Making Ends Meet”. You were given a job, a salary, and children to take care of and buy for them. In fourth and fifth grade, we do “Hands on Equations” and “Ceaser’s English”.

The Folders Every grade gets a folder, a different color for each grade, and gets their work put in it. You have to bring it back every time you get it. If you don’t, you have to write a plan that will help you remember to bring it back.

Teachers Mrs. Grebe Mrs. Cox Mrs. Gravitt

Extra Activities  Publishing books… Here in Horizons we all write books in 4 th & 5 th grade. This is very good for all horizons students to become an author.  Hall of History… Hall of History is for 4 th & 5 th grade ONLY. All of the students participating have to write a speech about a famous person. You will have to dress up as a famous person in history. Current Events are for students to learn what is going on in the world around them. They bring them in as a grade at the end of the month.
