H i s t o r y of T e l a v i Telavi was inhabited ever in B.C, but as a town it is mentioned in the II century A.D. by Greek scholar Ptolemaic. First archaeological findings from Telavi date back to Bronze Age. By 1762, it turned into the second capital (after Tbilisi). The reign of King Erekle II.

Sightseeing Tsinandali (Georgian: წინანდალი ) is a village in Kakheti, Georgia, noted for the estate and its historic winery which once belonged to the 19th-century aristocratic poet Alexander Chavchavadze (1786–1846). O u r U n I v e r s I t y In 1924 pedagogical technical college was established in Telavi which was the basis of the institute for teachers. In 2001 according to the decree of the President of Georgia I.Gogebashvili Telavi Pedagogical Institute Telavi State University.

International Relations and Programs More than 30 international projects are successfully fulfilled at Telavi State University: Erasmus Mundus Project “Open window of Cooperation Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan” Biberach Applied science University Hilbron University of Germany - The students of the Faculty of Agriculture and food Processing are sent to study there for a semester every year. The medical students take short-term study courses in Germany universities. On the basis of memorandum Telavi State University cooperates with the European universities as well as south- Caucasian universities.

Local Partners Wine companies The medical-diagnostic centre “Salbuni LTD “Georgia XXI Century” with its newspaper, licensed TV and radio broadcast is an excellent educational base for the students of journalism.
