Lesson 9 2D Sketches Angular dimensions Sketch Dimensions Offset
What if your part isn’t 90 degrees?
Angular Dimensions Click on one line Click on 2 nd line creating a corner Enter the Angular Dimension
Sketch Fillet Rounds the vertex created by two lines –Creates a Tangent Arc Specify Radius Keep constrained corners –Maintains the virtual intersection point if the vertex has dimensions or relations. –When cleared, and if the vertex has dimensions or relations, you are asked if you want to delete those geometric relations when the fillet is created.
Offsetting Creates a line a certain distance from an existing line –You can offset more than one line at a time
Extend and Trim Extend a line from one line to another Trim a line
Goal for the Lesson
Lesson 9 Part 1 –Goal: –Fillet is.5” Part 2 –Make 5 copies using the offset command
Lesson 9 Part 3 –Draw a 12” x 6” rectangle centered horizontally and the bottom of the rectangle is.5 below the origin –Extend the Diagonal Lines
Lesson 9 Part 4 Trim lines and fix to black
Lesson 9- Final Extrude
Lab 9 - Handle
Inserting and drawing on Planes Cuts are done perpendicular or normal to the surface the sketch is drawn
Inserting a Plane 1.Click on Right Plane in the feature manager 2.Click on Insert 3.Click on Reference Geometry 4.Click on Plane 5.Enter 4” for the distance to offset from the Right Plane 6.Click on Green Check
Draw the Circle and Extrude Draw a circle and dimension as shown Note that everything is black Extrude the cut
Fillet the Edges Don’t Fillet all the edges
Lab 9 Finish the handle and it to me When your done –Finish the briefcase –Advanced mate
If you are done Create a hinge for your handle Create a pin to go through handle and hinge Assemble your Brief Case
