Source: CDECs Exploring Values pack

What is a community of Philosophical Enquiry? 3. Thinking time and question generation

Should everyone have a say in what happens to the world? (Year 5) Should we go back to how it was in the olden days? (Year 5) Do we really need to lose our natural habitats and our history to make progress? Year 6 and adults

What is a community of Philosophical Enquiry? 4. Dialogue

What is a community of Philosophical Enquiry? 5. Debrief

1. Aesthetics Can rubbish be organised artistically to be beautiful? What is beauty? Can leaves be ugly?

2. Ethics Do we need to share? (Year 5) Should we pay for things that are essential?

4. Metaphysics Branch of philosophy concerned with explaining the fundamental nature of being and the world - two key questions: what is there? and, what is it like? Why do people see places as special? Does having lots of food make you happy? Do we really see what is there? 3. Epistemology The branch of philosophy that studies knowledge – what distinguishes true (adequate) knowledge from false (inadequate) knowledge?knowledge Can we have litter in nature?

5. Logic Why do some places have to be rich and some poor? If you are scared of something does that mean you dont like it? Can you be working hard if you are doing something easy? Is it fair to do something unfair, for a reason? More typical you see logic in answering a question

Kant Who am I? What can I hope? What should I do? What can I know?
