Welcome to Mrs. Wolfe’s 5th Grade Class!

Your Child Will Come to My Class For:  Science  Math A  Math B

CURRENT UNITS OF STUDY  Science – Solar Energy  Math A and Math B - Data and Statistics

A Day in the Life of a Fifth Grader  9:00-10:00 science  10:00-11:00 math B  11:00-12:00 recess/lunch  12:00-1:00 specials  1:00-2:15 language arts  2:15-3:00 social studies

Homework  Homework is assigned nightly except on Friday.  Unless the assignment board indicates a later due date, assignments are due the next day.  I do accept late homework, but it counts toward weekly learning skill grades.  Extracurricular clubs, classes, etc. can not excuse missed work.

Each Friday Home/School Communication folders will be sent home each Friday with important papers and graded work. Included in the folder will be a Learning Skills Report with your child’s learning skills grades for the week. Please sign and return each week.

Other Communications  Weekly Wolfe notes  Biweekly student letters  s are always welcome  Scheduled conferences I’m happy to speak with you. Please contact should you need a conference, and sign up for November!

STUDENT ABSENCES  Please try to arrange vacation during designated vacation days.  Should your child have an unexcused absence, I will try to help with work upon his or her return.  I’ll try to let you know in advance if I’m going to be out of school should you be looking for a day for an appointment, etc.

Math-N-Munches & Read-N-Feeds  The building of a strong and supportive classroom community is paramount to the success of all children.  By working together as a classroom community, we’ll be able to earn Math- N-Munches & Read-N-Feeds!

Thank you for helping us to have such a phenomenal beginning!
