Energy and Water Savings Presented by Bill Power Power Services, Inc San Mateo County Ag Workshop December 5, 2014

Pump Efficiency If you repair your pump PG&E will help with the cost through their Advanced Pump Efficiency Program. Example: 1000 Hrs.80 PSI$.18 cost per kWh Average OPE of pumps in area is 46% should be 63% If repair is made you could save 8200 kWh or $ per year

Irrigation System Improvement If you repair your system NRCS may be able to help with the cost through their EQIP Program Example: 25 acres Crop use 15 inches $.18 cost per kWh Average DU of systems in area is 45% should be 80% If repair is made you could save 6100 kWh or $ per year

Undersized Mainline If you replace your 4 inch mainline NRCS may be able to help with the cost through their EQIP Program Example: 4 inch pipe, 400 GPM, 1000 hours,20 PSI pressure drop $.18 cost per kWh Switching to 6 inch mainline could save 17,650 kWh or $ per year

Variable Frequency Drive PG&E has rebate program to help with cost. When speed is reduced to 75 percent of design speed, flow decreases to 75 percent, outlet pressure decreases to 56 percent, and the input power requirement drops to 42 percent of full-speed values. Even small reductions in speed and flow can result in significant energy savings.

Energy Efficient Motors PG&E has rebate program to help with cost hours per year and $.18 cost per kWh 25 HP Saves about $ HP saves about $172.00
